CSÁNGÓ Festival
Mission
The festival was founded in 1991 by Imre Pap and Ildikó Péter Bence. In 2026, it is being held for the 35th time in Jászberény, the capital of the Jászság region, organized by the Jászság Folk Ensemble. Over the past decades, numerous outstanding traditional dancers, musicians, and singers have presented the knowledge and values of their ancestors.
The Csángó Festival contributes greatly to preserving and passing on cultural diversity, unique folk art, and heritage. One of the festival’s key missions is to help safeguard the traditional, distinctive Csángó Hungarian culture, even in its minority existence.

In the “Street of Flavours,” guests can further enrich their experience with a wide variety of gastronomic and culinary delights. At the folk art and craft fair, products made by Hungarian folk artists, artisans, and craftspeople are showcased.
