The pilot clothing collection is focused on cycling, as the region has ideal conditions for cyclo-tourism and is a phenomenon for Mikulov in terms of tourism development.
  • Organization of pilot folk festival event with the aim to establish new tradition in the region. A similar folklore festival has not yet been organized in the Mikulov region and would also be a symbolic start to the tourist season in mid-May. The busiest months in terms of tourism in the region are June – early September, when especially in July/August there is overtourism factor apparent.
  • Organization of Heritage Valorisation Camp and thematic workshops focused on working with folk costumes, folk motifs and work with textile. The purpose is to teach, transfer and extend folk traditions and this work to new potential craftspeople as well as on the younger generation.

The outcomes of the pilot activities was the creation of a new design, logo and products based on the Mikulov patterns that will be available to visitors to purchase home as souvenirs. The pilot folklore festival attracted over 500 attendees and next year volume of the festival is already being prepared for upcoming tourist season, which will be already organized without COMMHERITOUR project support.
